KISS (Not What You Think)

KISS a common phrase usually associated with Keep It Simple Stupid.  I don't like to call names so I would never use this phrase in that way. I choose to use that phrase this way, Keep It Separate for Success.  What do I mean? You will notice there is a picture of the world . Imagine those  are your hands.  You are an entrepreneur  and a  business owner. You believe your client is potentially the  whole world, a common mistake often made by new business owners. Even though I'm sure you think your product or service is amazing the whole world will not be your client.  You will have to define your market.  Once you have achieved that lets say you have the attention of your "niche" in the world.
It is so important as a business owner to always present a professional presentation. Most of us come from diverse backgrounds . It is good to share your experiences, different industries in which you have achieved success etc;. That said , with social networking at our finger tips...you must keep your business and your personal life separate.  If you have a twitter account even if you have 2,000 or more followers do not mix business and personal tweets. Create an account for each. There are great tools available one which I use is tweetdeck.  You can manage multiple platforms at once.  There is nothing that erodes your clients confidence  quicker than receiving a tweet saying, "my dog ate my sock" or "brushing my teeth".  It makes you appear.......well not very professional. Keep your business accounts related to your business, providing information on services, article of interest etc. Today is Martin Luther King Day. I did tweet a post with his speech. But I find that unity in humanity is the most important topic for a business owner ,so that is acceptable. Remember this phrase KISS , with it's new definition Keep It Separate for Success and I know you will succeed!
